My name is Annissa. I grew up in a Christian home, went to church and a Christian st.:huul. I obviously did not full ow that road. I became addicted to pills at the age of 14 and at 16 started injecting heroin which became my life. I lost everything and quit school. I was arrested for theft and stealing a gun and attempting to sell it. I had a choice between going to jail or going to Freedom Village USA. I chose Freedom Village and when I first came here I did not want to be here but the Lord got a hold of my heart and I was saved in April 2011. My life has changed so much. J have so much joy and peace in my heart and I am so much happier now. I also now have a magnificent relationship with my family
and God has blessed me so much here at Freedom Village USA. 1 am so thankful and would not be the young lady that I am today without Christ in my heart.

Dan's Freedom Village Story
My name is Dan. Ever since 1 was a little kid I have searched for excitement, and something to live for. I had a good life as a child , but for some reason I still turned away from my beliefs. At the age of 13, I turned to the seductive world of drugs. I was able to function at first, but soon enough my lifestyle would take control of me. By the age of 15, Heroin and LSD were my favorite things to do. The things that I thought were so beautiful began to destroy me. I became very estranged and unstable. I put a ll my time and energy into fulfilling my only desire, which was to get high. I hated my life. It took me a long time to realize I had to make a decision to change. But thankfully, and against all odds, I have been able to overcome my addiction. I have decided to do what I always knew was right, and my life has never been the same.

Kimberly's Freedom Village Story
My name is Kimberly. Originally I'm from Hunstville, Ontario. My life before coming to Christ consisted of drugs, cutting, suicide attempts, many different prescription pills and being in a psychiatric ward. Growing up being abused by my father physically and sexually and my mother being diagnosed with cancer I felt like I had no one I could talk to. I hated myself and I just wanted to die. Cutting myself was like second nature to me and being labeled different disorders was normal.
When I came to Freedom Village USA, my eyes were opened to the answer for all of the hurt and pain in my life. Six months into the program I finally dropped the walls and accepted Christ as my Savior. Although it has not been easy Christ has completely changed me. Today I am no longer that hurt little girl that is looking for another pill to take to fix it. I serve God at Freedom Village USA in the girl's dormitory. I met and married my best friend here and we get to serve together and watch Christ change the young people that enter into the same program that we did.

Harley's Story
My name is Harley. My mom and dad were never married and my mom had me when she was 18 years old. I was brought up by my grandma without a male role model and a lack of discipline. I started looking up to the "older" crowd and by the time I was twelve, I was drinking and smoking. By the time I was in high school I was doing drugs. l didn't care about my future. I was a really self-centered person. I thought that if I didn't look out for myself, no one was going to. I got to a point in my life when a day didn't go by without me feeling depressed and thinking my life was pointless. I was so hopeless that I realized I needed help and ended up going to Freedom Village USA. This helped me separate myself from the lifestyle I was living and I found the answer that helped me change my altitude that was taking me to ultimate destruction. I isolated myself from bad influences and surrounded myself with people that would influence me for good. I realized that a long as I was still living, I had a chance to turn my life around. I'm still not perfect. but I have found the hope to follow after my desire to be a better person, and pass on the hope that I found.
